INTERESTING EXHIBITION OF RUSSIAN ART IN PARIS

 Collector’s treasure of Vladimir Pesic

In honor of the celebration of its tenth anniversary, the Russian Spiritual-Cultural Orthodox Center in Paris opens the exhibition ” The Splendor of Russian Painting of the XIX-XX Centuries. Masterpieces from the Collection of Vladimir Pesic”, which will be held from May 20 to June 30, 2026.

Thirty-seven years of collecting experience and dedicated work, together with the meticulous selection of works by Russian masters, have made Vladimir Pesic one of the most significant collectors of Russian art outside Russia. In its level and curatorial concept, this Collection goes far beyond the scope of an ordinary private collection: thanks to the impeccably considered selection of artists and artworks—many of which Pesic patiently pursued for years, sometimes even decades—it can be regarded as a true museum-level collection, reflecting the most important currents of Russian painting of the 19th and 20th centuries.

The collection has already been presented to the public several times at prestigious art exhibitions, as well as at five major solo exhibitions in Serbia. All these exhibitions achieved great public and media success, receiving exceptionally warm feedback from visitors. The exhibition in Paris, entitled “The Splendor of Russian Painting of the XIX-XX Centuries. Masterpieces from the Collection of Vladimír Pesic”, was designed as a visual journey through 150 years of the history of Russian art.

Eighteen masterpieces will be exhibited, representing twelve major artistic movements of the 19th and 20th centuries: Realism, Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, Russian Modern, the Neo-Russian Style, Cubism, Cubo-Futurism, Suprematism, Constructivism, Socialist Realism, Nonconformism, and Expressionism. Each exhibited artwork has a high artistic value – they are masterpieces and works of prominent artists. At the same time, the exhibition also has an educational mission: it introduces the audience to different movements of Russian art, as well as to important moments in Russian history. All exhibited artworks will be presented to the public for the first time.
