Painter, graphic artist
Studied at Odessa drawing school (1881-1883), then as a student at Imperial Academy of Arts (1883-1887) under M. Klodt. In 1886 received a small silver medal, in 1887 – a large silver medal for the painting “View of the rocks and the sea».
Lived in Odessa. He worked primarily as a landscape painter. Participated in academic exhibitions (1888), Wanderers (1898-1907, with interruptions), international art exhibitions in Paris and Munich. Member and exhibitor of the Association of South Russian Artists (from 1893), a member of the Moscow Society of Art Lovers, International Union of artists and writers (from 1907).
Paintings by Gerasim Golovkov are in several museum collections, among them – Museum of Ukrainian Art in Kiev, Odessa Art Museum and others.
