Ermakova Vera Georgievna (1923-1982)

Painter, portraitist. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR since 1963.

Vera Georgievna Ermakova was born on July 7, 1923 in the city of Ryazhsk, Ryazan Region. Her family moved to Moscow in 1932.
In 1943, she enrolled the Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov.
Her professors were S. V. Gerasimov, A. V. Lentulov, I. I. Chekmazov and V. V. Favorskaya.
In 1949, V. Ermakova graduated from the Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after Surikov, with her diploma work – a large-scale multi-figure painting “In Lenin’s Mausoleum”, which was later transferred to the Lenin Museum in Tbilisi.
Since 1949, V. Ermakova has been a member of the Moscow Association of Artists, and she was working in the Combine of Pictorial Art of the Artistic Fund of the USSR.
Works by V. Ermakova were exhibited at all the major art exhibitions from 1952 to 1981. She was a constant participant of the autumn and spring exhibitions of man and women artists of Moscow.
In 1977, in the halls of the All-Union Theater Society a large personal exhibition of works by V. Ermakova was held.
In 1978 – a personal exhibition in Ryazhsk, the homeland of V. Ermakova.
In 1981 – an exhibition of watercolors by V. G. Ermakova at the Timiryazev Agricultural Academy.

In 1982, due to her sudden death, two solo exhibitions by V. Ermakova did not take place – „Woman portrait and flowers” in France and in Japan.
The works of Vera Georgievna Ermakova are part of many collections – collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Ministry of Culture, the Museum of the Revolution, the Museum of the Armed Forces, the Ryazhsk Museum of Local Lore, other regional and foreign museums and also private collections in Russia, Georgia, Latvia, Kazakhstan, USA, France, Italy, Austria, Croatia, India, Japan.
