PORTRAIT OF TAMARA BIBA
Tamara Biba (1907–1992), whose portrait A. S. Tolstoy painted in the 1930s, was born in Moscow. She emigrated with her mother Katarina in 1920 to Serbia and settled in Belgrade. Worked for the Copyright Office. She was the wife of Georgi Biba, a well-known and recognized Belgrade antique dealer, who between the two World Wars had an antique shop on Vuk Karadzic Street. George Biba was a relative of Vladimir Peshich.
